    Objective: Develop a guitar app without a real representation. Sketched UI elements and 10 different screens. Recorded paper testing. Tools: Pencil, Paper and Canon 60D

    Refined screens from first round, but also tested originals to compare results. Data was emerging and screens narrowed down. Tools: Pencil, Paper and Canon 60D

    This round helped in deciding the strongest UI and the arrangment and functionality of different elements. Tools: Paper, Pencil and Canon 60D

    In this final round of paper testing the participant was able to complete 90% of the required tasks. Although not perfect, it felt appropriate to begin the design phase. Tools: Pencil, Paper and Canon 60D

    Research and Persona

    A dozen guitarist participated to help inform the persona and app design. Tools: Online Survey, AI and ID

    The results of the survey indicated players played acoustic guitars and music. This became part of the persona for the app, which influenced designs for this round. Tools: PS and C4D

    After testing the previous screens, the aesthetic still needed refinement. But the affordance of elements were moving in the right direction. Tools: PS and C4D

    This last round of idea boards and testing refined the interface to match the users closest mental model, outside of resembling a guitar. Tools: PS and C4D

    The Stortz Design website required an update to the latest web techonolgies and platforms. I reviewed the current site and decided to slim down the amount of content and refine the navigation. Tools: AI

    I utilized more nuetral tones with the purple color palette of the Stortz brand and showcased projects at full screen on the homepage. Choosing to crop in on project details for thumbs provided an interesting portfolio collection. Tools:AI & PS

    Final Launch

    Built on Wordpress with Bootstrap, HTML5, LESS, JS and jQuery, the Stortz Design Website now showcases they're best projects in a modern portfolio. Tools: Coda, Wordpress, Bootstrap, HTML5, LESS, JS, jQuery, CLI, AI and PS
